With regards to your post, I'd certainly not put all my eggs in one basket. I'd rather have 10 sites earning me $1 each than 5 earning me $2 each. That way if one or two fail I've still got 8 to support my income, hence the more the better. I know a guy that has 1,000 sites, but that's a bit on the extreme side.
