Amazon affiliate

A while back I added Amazon product links to one of my sites to find out if it would make me any extra money.  I had the Amazon affiliate products on the site for about a month and I only made 1 dollar. The worst part about the affiliates are that my adsense revenue for the site went down (maybe because people were clicking the amazon ads instead of the adsense ones).

 

In my personal life I have just got a job working in web development (full time – only a 6 month contract), I had to get a job quite a distance from where I live as there weren’t many jobs in web development close to were I live. Because of this I have had to rent a room in a house and move out from my parents house. This has taken nearly all of my time over the past week (to organize, move and buy stuff).  The downside about the new room is that I don’t have any internet access so I know that this is going to slow me down at building websites etc…

Falling revenue

My revenue for this month has fallen by about 10%. I ain’t too sure if this is because of everyone is skint(short of cash) because they have spent a lot of money on Christmas so the advertisers cut their budgets etc..

 

It could also be due to my sites falling in popularity or something. This is something I need to check.

 

Today I will be sorting out getting some articles wrote and also on getting links.

 

On a separate not e I have just got a full time job, it’s a six month contract building IT systems. This should cut the time I have for my websites but I will probably outsource a lot of the work.

Digg Front Page – Internet Enterprise update

I managed to get a front page Digg.com (digg is  a massive news site) which sent me loads of traffic. The problem was that it overloaded my shared server so the site got switched off for ages and eventually I had to upgrade to a semi dedicated server ($70 a month). The digg my ended up costing me a lot more than I anticipated.

Bought www.logotutorials.com from khalid, he needed the cash for a new venture.

Sold Dipee.com for $45 dollars, I didn’t really have time for this project. Good domain, I may regret selling it.

Sold some other domain names and also I got my first adsense cheque.

Adsense $100 target hit

Quick update: Adsense is a advertising network software run by google. It allows people to buy or/and sell website ads. This week I hit my adsense $100 mark, its a good target to hit. I have had adsense for about 3 months but only started using it about 2 months ago. At first I found it hard to make money from it but I kept plugging away at it.  The $100 mark is good becuase its when google can send you your first cheque.

I know $100 dosen’t sound like a lot but it proves that money can be made from websites. If you want to sign up to adsense visit the link below.
